About the Hunt

This hunt provides a magnificent opportunity for the hunter looking to take a big Kudu bull completely free range.

TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS:

Traveling to Johannesburg is easily done with flights leaving from Perth or Sydney most days. I recommend an overnight stay in Johannesburg so that you are well rested for the drive to camp the following day.

As with all international hunts I suggest adding rifle rental to your hunt for ease of travel.

The outfitters total hunting concessions are around 100,000 Acres and consist of mostly low fence cattle concessions. This gives you the opportunity to pursue some of the best animals Africa has to offer in one of the most natural hunting environments.

The Kudu in this area are great and the outfitter takes some very fine free ranging trophies every year. The Nyala are also great in this area and an Nyala Bull is a great add on if time permits or if you spot a nice one whilst looking for Kudu.
An Nyala is reasonably priced at $2200 AUD here. That's much cheaper than the $3800AUD they go for in other provinces.

The lodging will depend on the area you are to hunt on your particular hunt but all of the lodging this outfitter offers is top notch, as are the meals.

Whilst there are many other Great Plains game trophies to be found in these areas, your focus should be on glassing as many Kudu bulls as possible and finding the bull of your dreams, remembering that all of the animals here are completely free ranging and will be a great challenge to hunt.

The hunting here is done by spot and stalk, you and your PH will leave the lodge in the morning, glassing down into the many valleys and draws.

You may look over a LOT of Kudu Bulls to find the bull of your dreams.

Once your dream Kudu has been spotted you will stalk in with your PH to get into a shooting position.

You will shoot off of shooting sticks so please practice before your safari!

You will generally head back to the lodge for lunch if time permits and then head out glassing again in the afternoon. If you are out hunting hard in the mountains you can expect to have lunch in the field.

You will return to the lodge in the evening to enjoy a nice meal and locally made beer or wine.

Once your trophy is harvested the expert skinners will skin the trophy as per your desires, it is then tagged and put into the salt for delivery to the taxidermist shortly after your safari.
